Happy Tuesday, sassies! We’ve really been obsessed with floral crowns this season. With Kailey being a hairstylist (she will officially be done with cosmetology school by the end of the summer, YES!), we are always looking for beautiful pieces to add to our hair! As we’ve mentioned before, Kailey assists Sunkissed & Made Up with weddings and other events throughout the year. Jenna Deao, one of their stylists, just recently started this darling little company, Olive & Bloom. She custom designs and creates floral crowns for weddings, styled shoots, maternity sessions, and anyone who just feels like being a flower child for a day! She’s working on a website; however, you can follow her on Instagram (@oliveandbloom) and take a look at her beautiful creations! She’s beyond talented and we are so excited to see O&B grow (no pun intended!) and make it’s debut! Thanks for stopping by!
Hey, sassies! It’s K! So, my life lately has been CRAZY. Between school, work, and Golden my days have been packed from 6:30 AM to usually around 9ish…it’s brutal. But I’m honestly loving every minute of it. I feel so humbled that the Houston area has taken my new business venture beautifully and I love being a part of making someone feel and look like they have been sprawled out on the beach in Cabo sipping on margs (is it summer yet?!), even if it is with just a spray tan. But in all seriousness who doesn’t love a good tan? Yeah, I don’t know any. There’s a little update on me!
I’ve also been beyond blessed to have been given some GREAT opportunities to work with the oh-so talented, Katie Lamb. She is an amazing photographer who specializes in lifestyle portraits and films and also has a separate brand just for beauty and boudoir, BLUSH by Katie Lamb. She is also the creator behind Willow & Mei, who designed our pretty new logos for DSS and Golden. I was lucky enough to model for the Landon Lacey Spring Collection and Katie shot all of LL’s new pieces. Landon Lacey is a Chicago based designer and has BIG things happening within her company– stay tuned! Both locations that we shot at were stunning, but they’re top secret (I love saying that, it makes me feel mysterious). Katie styled both shoots and mostly all the pieces were from Urban Outfitters, Victoria’s Secret, Free People, Anthropology, and of course Landon Lacey!
Thanks for stopping by!

We hope that everyone has had a wonderful week! We have been super busy with work, Golden, and school. Since it’s the end of the year, our professors are being extra gracious with piling on the work. However, it just means that we’re soooo close to summer!
We super duper apologize that both of our dresses are sold out, BUT do not fret because we linked similar styles. We are loving that Texas finally decided to go back to normal, and we pretty much hate jeans. We’re definitely all about dresses, and we’re loving it.
Hey, sassies! We wanted to shed some light on a sweet, sweet organization that reached out to us to bring awareness to childhood cancer research. A representative from University of Minnesota (Haley Feyereisen) explained to us the concept of Headbands of Hope, and we instantly fell in love with what the are doing. For every headband purchased, one is given to a girl with cancer and $1 is donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund life-saving childhood cancer research.
Headbands are a fabulous way for the girls to still keep their feminine identity which is crucial as they mature and grow into their own, and helps them still feel beautiful without having to wear a wig. Going through cancer is a traumatic experience in itself and we couldn’t imagine losing our hair at that age.
We are truly inspired with Headbands of Hope and we hope that you take a look at their site (www.headbandsofhope.org) and read up about their organization. They have some beautiful headbands for purchase, and we love a good hair accessory! So we’ve decided to give away these two studded headbands on our Instagram @doubleshotofsass! All you have to do to enter is follow @doubleshotofsass and @headbandsofhope, ‘like’ our picture, and tag two friends in a comment! We will be announcing two lucky winners on Friday, April 10th!
We appreciate y’all taking the time to catch up with us and we hope you get involved with making a sweet little girl feel beautiful with a headband! Much love!
