Home is where the heart is

Who’s excited that we’re half way through the week?! AND in other words, we’re half way to Fourth of July weekend! Woohoo! It’s one of my favorite holidays for one of the reasons that you get to eat popsicles and burgers. All. Day. Long. The way to my heart is through my stomach (Lukas found this to be true very early on in our relationship, he’s a fast learner.)
Last night I attended a super fun summer soiree at Planet Blue Houston in River Oaks District and it was so fun mixing and mingling with my favorite bloggers like Lauren with Life To Lauren and Dede with Dress Up Buttercup. Ashley Rose of Sugar and Cloth put on a wonderful DIY workshop making citrus sugar scrubs (to get off the last of your spray tan, duh) and cocktails from Hopdoddy’s was an absolute hit. I may or may not have had one too many margaritas. Who cares if I have to be in a bikini for 72 hours starting Friday. Calories, shmalories. On my drive home I was reminded of how much I love my city and the friends I’ve made along the way blogging, I truly feel so blessed by everyone that has inspired me and continues to encourage me to do more of what I love.
If you missed my Instagram post this morning, I’m over the moon to announce that I will be moving in to my FIRST apartment come September! I’ve been adulting hard lately and I’m finally at a point in my life that I feel like I can go out on my own and truly support myself (with my loves just a phone call away!) I don’t know if I’m more looking forward to living in River Oaks or that I get to completely decorate/furnish my new space! I’ve already started buying things here and there, incorporating old and new, past down and new finds. This is definitely a must buy of mine and it will find a home above my couch. I linked a few of my purchases so far and I keep checking my email to see when they will ship! If I weren’t a hairstylist/make up artist, I would be an interior decorator. I love coming in to a blank space and envisioning what it should be and the potential it has.   I can’t wait till I move in and I get to show you all what I put together! It’s so crazy, Hailey is busy buying baby clothes and strollers and I’m over here moving into my first apartment and getting a passport. This is BANANAS! So many new changes are happening in our lives and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
OH, I ALMOST FORGOT! We find out if we will be buying bows or footballs for Hailey and Jacob’s little tomorrow and I can barely stand it!
