Double Shot of Sass | Behind the Blog

BEHIND THE BLOG
Our names are Hailey Daniels and Kailey Nouis, and Double Shot of Sass was founded in 2015. We’re 23-year-old twin sisters living in Houston, Texas whom have a love for all things beauty, style, home, and travel. When we entered into college at the University of Houston, we were dance majors. We dreamed of owning our own studio together, but as life would have it, plans changed. Kailey went on to gain an associates degree in applied science and certification in cosmetology while Hailey graduated with a bachelors degree in early education. Kailey began her career in beauty and styling while Hailey started her career as a second grade teacher. Once, Hailey’s daughter was born in November 2016, H made the decision to follow her passion and join Kailey in the beauty industry. Our career and blog has been a God-sent as it truly is the glue between us as we get to share our time, love, and passions with one another. We created the blog to pour our creative energy into in hopes to spark a little sass in our readers, and we are so very thankful on how much it has bloomed since.

ABOUT HAILEY
I’m Hailey, and I’m proud to where many hats: coauthor and content creator of Double Shot of Sass, wife to Jacob, mama to baby Lily, and former teacher turned hair stylist for Houston-based bridal hair and makeup company, Sunkissed & Made Up (as is Kailey). I live in a rural town 30 minutes outside of Houston, Mont Belvieu, and enjoying farmhouse living with my sweet, little family. Out of the two of us, I’m definitely the more laid back one, but I’m not going to lie…I get pretty tickled over margs, queso, girls night, tousled updos, and being the best mama + wife I can be.

ABOUT KAILEY
I’m Kailey, and I’m coauthor and content creator of Double Shot of Sass, a professional wanderlust-soul traveler, marg connoisseur, yogi, and hair stylist + makeup artist for Sunkissed & Made Up along with H. I’m currently living in the city, and I like to refer to myself as the Houston-based Carrie Bradshaw (sans the risqué behavior) as I’m enjoying the single life and truly learning about myself, flaws and all. I’m the happiest when I’m at happy hour with my gal pals, nailing down a new pose at yoga, discovering hidden gems in Houston, and swatching Tom Ford lipsticks. Ya know, being the ultimate girl’s girl.

Our lives have quickly evolved since the start of this little platform, and our hope is to inspire from the working, single girl to the stay-at-home mama that every corner of your life can be full of sassiness (with a side of rosé).
