Hello, Lovely!

We hope June went swimmingly for all of you! We took a little blog post break to focus on upcoming projects, work, and family! It was much needed due to Baby Claire having medical scare and our businesses just being overly busy. Sometimes as bloggers you have to hit the social media pause button to be completely present, something that we both struggle with. But you gotta do what you gotta do and we thank you all for giving us that time last month!

Minus the sweltering heat of Houston, this truly is our favorite time of year. Now that Lily is a year and a half old, swim days have never been more fun. Margaritas seem to taste better. You can get away with wearing a dress every day of the week. Summer nights have a particular sizzle to them. Time with your girlfriends seem that much sweeter.

I can’t remember the last time we went on a picnic. When Tayler had the great idea of getting all of us gals together for a Summer afternoon picnic we were quick to say “when and where?!” The cherry on top was that Jess and Lauren were in town and they could join us! When you’ve hit up every single Houston brunch spot, it’s about time to switch it up! The girls and I wanted to share what you need to plan a  perfect picnic and some sassy looks from shopsaltflat.com. Let’s get to it!

  • You must bring bubbly and popsicles! Preferably Veuve Clicquot and Bomb Pops. We’re past the childhood Capri Sun and goldfish picnic days.
  • Bring a pretty quilt to sit on and a basket to hold the goods in. Here are some of our favorites:
  • Flowers are always necessary for a girly picnic, especially if you’re wanting to snap a few pictures while together.
  • Wear the prettiest dresses, preferably from shopsaltflat.com. {You can find all of the outfits we were wearing here.}
  • Prepare a lovely cheese & charcuterie board. It’s like an adult luncheable which is so fitting for a picnic.
  • It’s a rare occasion where you can find time to catch up with all of your girlfriends. Particularly during the Summer when everyone is going 100 miles an hour. If you do in fact have the opportunity, get together. Catch up. See how each other is doing. Have a few cocktails. Throw a Summer picnic.

 Fourth of July is in just a few days, what are your plans?
